What is Sexual Health?
It can mean many things, and it can be misleading or misunderstood.
In my practice of adult sexual health counseling, it involves providing a supportive space to address areas such as communication and intimacy between partners, and guiding individuals towards establishing healthy or healthier romantic and intimate relationships—whether in daily life or after experiencing betrayal or trauma. It includes offering assistance with matters of sexual identity, gender, alternative lifestyles, kinks, fetishes, and fantasies. Stigmas, societal norms, and upbringing can often lead to questioning one’s beliefs and perceptions about what is considered “normal,” “too much,” or “not enough.”
It may also encompass helping individuals cultivate better relationships with themselves or their partner(s). Are past betrayals or traumas hindering you from achieving your desired goals? Sometimes, to heal, move forward, or create the life you envision, sexual, romantic, or intimacy components may not be the primary issue. In such cases, you might wonder how a professional specializing in adult sexual health can assist or be the most suitable choice. The answer lies in the foundational therapies, education, and principles that therapists acquire, equipping us with the tools to support clients across a wide range of concerns.
From this broad base, some practitioners, including myself, choose to focus specific areas that resonate personally or professionally.
I specialize in Adult Sexual Health but also offer General Counseling services, including support for anxiety, life coaching, stress and more. While my practice primarily serves adult clients I occasionally accept teenage clients on a case-by-case basis.
Although this may seem like an extensive scope of work, I find that these areas are often interconnected. I have categorized them as separate services for clarity and invite you to explore my offerings for further information.
